One of the most iconic StarCraft players ever, Lim “BoxeR” Yo Hwan, is the newest member of the Esports Hall of Fame. The famous South Korean is the first StarCraft player to be added to its ranks.

Lim “BoxeR” Yo Hwan rose to the highest ranks of the StarCraft scene. He became one of the most popular professionals for his creativity, innovative strategies, and over-the-top micro-management. With his insane skills, he turned the Terran race from the weakest faction into a winner’s choice, revolutionizing the way Terrans are being played and inventing strategies still used today.

BoxeR has won the KGPA Tour, came first in two StarLeague tournaments, and has two World Cyber Games wins to his name. BoxeR also helped founding several esports organizations. He helped to create the SK Telecom’s Esports team, which has since gone on to be a household name due to its success both in StarCraft and League of Legends.

During his time in the South Korean military, he created “Airforce Challenge Esports”, a team composed of players from the Korean Air Force. Lastly, he founded the hugely successful SlayerS team, which went on to win the GSL Team League multiple times.

However, fans will mostly remember him for his dominance during the formation period of professional StarCraft competition. This makes him the perfect selection to become the first StarCraft player inducted into the esports Hall of Fame.
