Celtic the fourth club to join eFootball.Pro PES competitionPosted on: Oct 10, 2018 By smartlaunch in News and trends,
Celtic will join the eFootball.Pro football eSports competition, based on Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer. Celtic took part in the eFootball.Pro Invitational tournament last August, and now has decided to officially enter the competition as a founder club.
The Celtic eSports players will compete against those of Barcelona, Schalke 04 and AS Monaco, the other announced members of this international league. Celtic will be recruiting two professional video game players to represent the club in the eFootball.Pro league. These players will be competing throughout the year against other eSports players from the clubs mentioned above, and others that are subsequently announced.
The eFootball.Pro competition will be played using Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), the video game series by the global digital entertainment publisher KONAMI.
Working with the Dublin-based eSports agency Qwatti, Celtic are kicking off their eSports interaction with a FIFA 18 tournament. The tournament comes whilst the club celebrates the 50th anniversary of them winning the European Cup, the predecessor of the current Champions League. The tournament will be on the XBOX One, and require everyone to play as Celtic FC in the Head-to-Head competition.
