ESL One Mumbai 2019 EU/CIS qualifiers kick off today, February 27th at 17:00 CET, featuring Elements Pro Gaming, The Pango and two more CIS teams – The Mahoney Squad and Team Jekich.

For the first time in the Dota history, Mumbai will welcome players, talents, and fans for an entire weekend of Dota 2 action from April 19th to 21st live at ESL One Mumbai 2019. ESL One Mumbai 2019 will see twelve of the world’s best Dota 2 team battling it out for a spot on the big stage at India’s first ever big esports stadium event and a prize pool of USD 300,000.

There will be seven directly invited teams and five qualified teams from NA, EU/CIS, China, SEA, and India. Originally the EU/CIS qualifiers for ESL One Mumbai 2019 had Alliance, Na’Vi, Gambit Esports and Elements Pro Gaming listed as the four teams to be locking horns for the one regional spot at the main event. Alliance, who was slated to be competing had just accepted a direct invite only a few days ago joining Ninjas in Pyjamas in the main event, freeing up one spot for another hopeful team.

A few days ago, reports indicated that Na’Vi had withdrawn from the event qualifiers due to a packed schedule and Gambit had also dropped from the regional affair. Now, it has been brought to light that the impressive and rising CIS stars have instead accepted a direct invitation to the main event in India. Gambit took a remarkable second place finish at ESL One Katowice 2019, falling the grand finals to the #1 team in the world right now, Team Secret.
