Formula One constructor Ferrari will participate in the F1 New Balance Esports Series after sitting out the 2018 season. With Ferrari’s involvement, the 2019 F1 Esports Series will mark the first time all 10 teams on the Formula One grid will be represented in the sport’s sim-racing off-shoot. Now the entire pack will participate in the 2019 season.

The series will use F1 2019 by Codemasters – the official F1 game – and this year the prize fund has been more than doubled from USD 200,000 to USD 500,000.

The Series will see four live shows take place at the GFinity Arena in London, running between September to December.

Ferrari had been the only team to decide against taking part in last year’s championship, which was won by Mercedes. Team-mate Daniel Berezney finished second ahead of Toro Rosso Esports’ Frederik Rasmussen. It’s not known how many of last year’s drivers will return for another season, or whether reigning champion Brandon Leigh will be back to defend his title after a dominating campaign in 2018.
