German sports broadcaster Sport1 has signed a content partnership with esports organisation ESL. The two-year deal will showcase ESL events via the broadcaster’s new eSports1 channel, which is due to be launched today, Thursday January 24. ESL organises competitions in games such as League of Legends, Dota 2 and Clash Royale.
The pay-TV channel eSports1 will be broadcast across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on the platforms Vodafone Germany, Telekom, Unitymedia, 1&1, T-Mobile Austria, A1 Telekom, UPC Switzerland, and Zattoo. However, all of the content will also be available via a dedicated esports app.
Sport1 will this year broadcast high-profile events including ESL One Katowice, ESL One Mumbai and ESL One Birmingham, as well as League of Legends European Masters tournaments and the Red Bull MEO powered by ESL Clash Royale competition.
