NBA star Kevin Garnett invests in esports startup

The former NBA champion Kevin Garnett, recently invested in the esports startup Triumph Esports. Triumph Esports is based in the US, and runs esports teams across multiple games, including Overwatch, Teamfight Tactics, and Apex Legends.

They have been registered on ESL’s gaming website since January 28th, 2018. Garnett’s investment in Triumph esports, is through his company Big Tickets Sports LLC. Garnett’s company is an event management, and production company.

Their partnership with Triumph Esports is seen as a natural fit, as both companies strive to create unique and new experiences for gamers across the world. The companies also see an opportunity to mingle sports with esports.

Having a former NBA star player as a partner, also validates the esports company to the next level. Garnett made a name for himself when he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and won a championship with the Bolton Celtics.
