Esports production company ImbaTV has announced that its first Dota Auto Chess competition, the “Auto Chess All Star Invitational,” is currently hosted in conjunction with Douyu between February 27 to March 3. This is the first time a Dota Auto Chess competition is run by an esports production company.

Multiple Chinese esports celebrities will take part in this competition as players including Chinese businessman Wang Sicong, the owner of esports organization IG; esports production company Banana Culture; and Panda TV.

The competition is exclusively streamed on Douyu TV. Douyu TV is a Chinese online platform for live videos of people playing games. Founded in 2013 as AcFun Live, a live broadcasting division of AcFun, Douyu changed its name and became independent in January 2015.

Auto Chess is a competitive eight-player mode that’s available to download as a custom game mode in Dota 2. Unlike traditional Dota, the play takes place on a chessboard of eight squares by eight squares. Rather than chess pieces though, you play with various heroes from Dota 2.
