For years, gamers have gotten a bad rap. Unbeknownst to the public, gamers are on the rise. They are not the lonely basement dwellers people once thought them to be. The Internet has created an off-line world of gamers. People like to connect and compete – and they’re not getting nearly the public recognition that they deserve.

The eSports gaming lounge allows these gamers to come out in a world where they are free, open and enjoy themselves. They are not “cave dwellers.” In fact, they are normal, working, everyday people like you and me. Moreover, they are popping up everywhere all across the globe.

There’re more benefits of eSports gaming lounges than what is on the surface. In today’s unsure economy, they keep gaming alive. Gamers are all too aware of how expensive a gaming computer system can be – often a $10,000 or more investment. People don’t have that kind of cash just lying around. It’s far more affordable to go to a gaming lounge where they can game to their hearts content rather than do it at home. Plus they’re fun.

How do they do it? What do they sell? And what does their business model look like? They don’t sell physical products. You don’t go walking around with a shopping cart, filling it up and paying for your purchases at the end. Simple POS software won’t do – it’s not sufficient.

ESports gaming lounges are not your typical 90s cybercafés where all you’re paying for is an Internet connection. A lot more happens here. Serious money gets dropped at some of the gaming competitions. Cyber-athletes are going toe-to-toe with celebrities in terms of followers and popularity. These businesses rely on state-of-the-art entertainment center software for their billing solution.

There’s a ton of money in it. Several years ago, countries like South Korea held huge gaming tournaments. Gaming LANs used to be what people did to compete against each other. Games didn’t always have online capabilities. If people wanted to compete against each other – or play with each other on the same side – games required that the gamers be on the same network. The Internet has replaced that. People can now network with each other through gaming platforms such as Steam® from the comfort of Internet cafés or their own homes if they wish. At a time when LANs were at their peak, computer manufacturers were trying to figure out a way to physically shrink full-blown tower computers without sacrificing power just so the gamers can cart them around and connect with each other via networks. I don’t think the lack of efficacy needs to be explained. I mean, you’re physically carrying around a tower computer whenever you want to play games with someone else.

With the advent of the Internet and the desire gamers had to bring dynamic playing experiences to the games they love, eSports gaming lounges have become more and more popular. ESports Gaming lounges has nothing to do with sports games – although sports games are not foreign to these lounges. Your typical cyber athlete is an RPG math whiz calculating in-game dynamics and formulas and then going on and trying it out.

If you’re thinking about starting an Internet café, then I don’t have to tell you how lucrative they can be. Some of these gaming tournaments have pools starting at $10 million – like DOTA2 did in 2014. They are global events with thousands of players. None of this would be possible without cost effective business software to manage these cafés. Gaming is not going anywhere anytime soon. If anything, we’ve barely touched the tip of the iceberg.
