US Sports Camps executive vice president Justin Hoeveler has launched a new company called Esports Camps that will offer summer camps for esports. For the inaugural summer this year, the company will only offer camps for League of Legends.

Esports Camps will offer programs similar to its traditional sports camps, with attendees working directly with coaches to improve their skills. Kids will be grouped into teams to work on teamwork and coordination and simulate a competitive environment. The Esports Camps website assures that physical fitness will be a core part of the program.

Esports Camps has partnered with Robert Morris University, University of Toronto Esports, Sports Academy, and Esports Arena. These organizations will host camps in their esports facilities, with Esports Arena hosting camps at both its Santa Ana and Oakland locations.

The goal of the training camps are not only focused on talent development and helping to develop future all-stars, but also to teach players life skills through experiences, like traditional sports. As with traditional sports, youth programs like summer camps help engage families in sports culture, and provide additional income and career opportunities to former and rising players.
